Information Updated April 3, 2020

All SFC-sanctioned events, practices, and gatherings have been canceled through May 4, 2020 per Governor Inslee’s "Stay at Home” order. We will reevaluate at that time and will extend as needed per CDC guidelines and updates from Governor Inslee.

Stay Moving / Stay Healthy
Softball is not over. We are just on pause. Exercise is a very important part of staying healthy. Officials are very clear you are not confined to your house. Go outside and work in your backyard, go for a run, go for a bike ride, use the open green spaces in city parks.

Be safe. Make sure you are following safety protocols at all times. Maintain social distancing, practice proper hygiene, be safe!

Seattle Parks & Recreation: Understanding the Governor’s Stay at Home, Stay Healthy order, residents are encouraged to visit the 479 local neighborhood parks or to bike or walk to these destination parks, which will remain open for public use. Follow updates from Seattle Parks and Rec. on their blog.

Softball Workouts
  • Run every days with your parents or siblings
  • Swing the bat and hit into a net off the tee in your back yard. Run hitting drill stations with your family members
  • Throw into a net or with your parents practicing proper technique
  • Pitchers – practice your snaps, throw into a net. Grab a family member and run through your normal pitching practice routine
  • Catchers – run workouts in your gear and practice blocking, spring-loading, and firing

Virtual Workout Challenge
We launched the Virtual Workout Challenge to each of the teams. Work together on Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc., to run core workouts, practice hitting, and stay connected.

Be creative: SFC Attitude and SFC Rampage created awesome videos. You can check them out on SFC’s Instagram and Facebook

Send videos or screen shots so we can share all your hard work on our website and through our social media channels. You can email them to info@seattlefastpitch.com or tag us on Instagram or Facebook.

Write your own core workouts to favorite songs. Use the below for inspiration.

My sister, Linda, filmed a special workout for SFC Rampage. It’s 30 minutes focusing on cardio and strength training. She even filmed a message for Rampage in the beginning.

Everyone is welcome! Run the workout with your family members. Check out Linda’s SFC cardio workout on YouTube. She also suggested Sweatin’ to the Oldies 2 or Sweatin’ to the Oldies 3 with Richard Simmons.

Workout Resources from our SFC Secretary, Peggy Mathison
Peggy is running virtual workouts. You’re welcome to attend and if interested, you can email Peggy at peggy.e.mathison@gmail.com.

Peggy also shared a link that has compiled a ton of free workout programs for at home exercise. Peggy has offered her help if anyone would like workout inspiration.

Message from our SFC Safety Officer, Brenna David
Hello all! Just wanted to give you a heads up that my clinic (Avant PT) is continuing to offer PT services via Telehealth during this time of social distancing. This is a great time for any injured players to do PT as they will have more time to commit (no school/games/practice) and to allow adequate recovery from the offending activity /sport. We are here to continue to help our community stay healthy, active and pain free! Please let me know if anyone is interested or has any further questions. People may reach out to me personally or visit our website for more information. You can reach Brenna at brenna@avantphysicaltherapy.com.

Brenna also shared that there is also a new ACL prevention injury prevention program designed by Seattle Pediatric Sports Medicine. See the program linked here.
