Announcing SFC Lightning Co-Head Coaches Pat Moore and Rhonda Claytor

Pat and Rhonda to lead 12U SFC Lightning in the 2022-2023 Season.

After a very successful season this spring, 12U SFC Lightning will be our second year 12U team in the 2022-2023 season. 

Along with a core group of athletes, SFC Lightning will have a two experienced powerhouse head coaches at the helm - Pat Moore and Rhonda Claytor.

About Coach Pat Moore

Coach Pat Moore just wrapped up the season as a fifth year senior pitcher for University of Washington Softball. Pat is an amazing pitcher and coach. A few of her accomplishments include: 
  • 2022 season: Pat did not allow a run in 12 of 26 appearances
  • Threw a scoreless five innings vs. Long Beach State to pick up her first win of the season (Feb. 11, 2022)
  • She got her first hit and RBI as a Husky at Utah (May 7, 2022)
  • In 2021, among many accolades, Pat threw her first career no-hitter and seventh postseason no-hitter in Washington history against Seattle U (May 22, 2012)
  • In Pat’s junior year at UW she threw a complete-game shutout in the season debut (Feb. 9, 2020)
  • After transferring to UW for her sophomore year, Pat went four scoreless innings in her Husky debut, earning the win (Feb. 9, 2019)
  • In 2018 as a freshman at DePaul, Pat received Big East Pitcher of the Year, All-Big East First Team, and NFCA All-Region First Team honors

About Coach Rhonda Claytor

Coach Rhonda Claytor is a former collegiate softball player, having played second base for the University of Missouri in the 1983-1986 seasons. Rhonda inspires our athletes every day! A few of her accomplishments include:
  • Appearance in the Women’s College World Series in 1983 
  • 1983 Missouri Tigers:
    • Record: 40-13
    • Big Eight Regular Season: NA
    • Big Eight Tournament: First place
    • NCAA Midwest Regional: First place (2-1)
    • Women’s College World Series: T-7th
  • 1984 Big 8 All-Tournament Team Second Base
  • In 1984 Rhonda spoke on the importance of Title IX. Her inspirational statement is recorded as a part of the Civil Rights Act of 1984: Joint Hearings Before the United States Congress, House Committee on Education and Labor
  • Coach Rhonda is an educator, working in Seattle Public Schools for many years
As we honor the 50th anniversary of Title IX, we recognize the impact Coach Rhonda had on women being able to compete today.

  • First Place: Gold Bracket at the USSSA Queen of the Northwest in Puyallup, WA. April 2022
  • First Place: Gold Bracket at the NAFA Frog Day Tourney in Seaside, OR. May 2022
  •  4-1 Pool Record to Gold Bracket Play at the Sterling Invite in Wenatchee, WA. May 2022
