Welcome to SFC Coach Maggie Gallagher! Maggie will be heading up SFC Smoke for the 2024-2025 season.
About Coach Maggie
Maggie was raised in Seattle and played softball for Kennedy Catholic High School. As a senior, she was named the Gatorade Player of the Year, batting .714 in 2016 with 17 home runs.
Maggie won back-to-back Seamount League MVP, thanks in part to a .719 batting average, 42 runs scored, and 34 RBI her junior year. She helped the Lancers to a league title and was named a MaxPreps 2015 Small Schools All-American. She was also named to the Seattle Times All-Area team three times and First Team All-Conference every season.
As a sophomore, Maggie hit better than .800 for most of the season and finished at .695 with a .760 on-base percentage and a 1.373 slugging percentage (including 11 home runs). She scored 40 runs and drove in 47 (in 59 at bats), striking out twice.
At University of Washington, Maggie appeared in 30 games, starting 11 her freshman year. She made two Women’s College World Series appearances, one being the National Runner-Up in 2018.
Maggie is an advocate of Women In Baseball. She was the first female president and player for University of Washington Men’s Club Baseball Team and General Manager/Player for the Cascade Division in the Puget Sound Baseball League. Maggie also made an appearance in the Men’s Baseball League World Series, being one of two females out of 40,000 male baseball players.
In 2023, Maggie went back to her alma mater and became the first female to coach varsity baseball as an assistant coach.
Maggie currently coaches University of Washington Women’s Club Baseball team, winning back-to-back National Championships in 2022 & 2023. She has recently coached with the Major League Baseball Trailblazer Series with Women In Baseball, Major League Baseball GRIT Series with Women In Baseball and the Inagural Little League Maria Pepe Legacy Series at the World Series complex with Women In Baseball.
Maggie graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of Psychology. She currently works at SpaceX.
