    Frequently Asked Questions

When does the 2022-2023 season officially begin: SFC will begin the new season on September 1, 2022.

How many teams will SFC have in the 2022-2023 season: We will have teams in the 10U, 12U, and 14U age divisions.

What is the commitment level: We expect a high level of commitment and focus from the girls who play for SFC. Our teams are focused and goal-oriented. SFC practices and tournaments are the priority. The exception being academic requirements and family commitments.

That said, we do encourage multi-sport athletes and will try to accommodate those girls who have other sports or organized activities which may conflict with the SFC schedule. Please discuss any potential conflicts with your head coach.

When will practices begin for the new season: Practice scheduling is at the discretion of the head coach per team. Practices typically begin mid- to end-of-August.

Where do SFC teams practice: Our coaches try to schedule practices in a centralized location for most members on the team.

    • Outdoor practices run on, but are not limited to, Lower Woodland, Riverview, Chief Sealth, Maplewood, Meadowbrook, and Magnuson.
    • Indoor practices take place primarily in Georgetown.

What are practice schedules: Practices are scheduled by the head coach. Teams practice 2-3 times per week with additional opportunity for specialty position work and clinician time. Practices run from 90-minutes to 2-hours.

Specialty Clinicians: SFC works with several local college softball players for hitting, pitching, and catching. Those sessions will be coordinated after the season begins.

How long is the season: The official season runs from September 1 to July 31. We practice inside and outside year-round.

How many tournaments does each team play: Tournament schedules are set by the head coach for each team. Teams typically play in 11-12 tournaments in the September to July timeframe.

Will my team travel: Travel tournaments will be defined by the head coach. SFC teams play all over Washington and Oregon. Our premier teams will travel out-of-state. Travel expectations will be set in player offer letters.

What are SFC fees per season: Player fees vary by team and will be confirmed in player offer letters.

Are scholarships available: Yes, we offer scholarships. We never turn anyone away for financial reasons. Email info@seattlefastpitch.com for scholarship information.

Who do I email with questions: For information about one of the SFC teams, or to schedule a private tryout, please contact info@seattlefastpitch.com.
